The goals of the Mecklenburg County Bar (MCB) Young Lawyers Division (YLD) are accomplished through the work of established committees. Please take a moment to consider a volunteer role with the YLD by serving on one or more committees. You must be a member of the MCB YLD to participate on YLD committees.

Community Service & Legal Assistance Committee
Coordinates public service and legal assistance opportunities for YLD members and oversees the Bar’s volunteer outreach opportunities. As an integral part of MCB volunteer opportunities, this committee ensures that all community service projects provide legal assistance to the citizens of Mecklenburg County and/or North Carolina. Such activities include meals for the needy, the Salvation Army Angel Tree, clothing drives, Ask-A-Lawyer Day, Wills Clinic, Know Your Rights Program and many more.
Education Committee
Organizes activities that educate the Mecklenburg County community about the law and the MCB as a whole. This includes developing and implementing continuing legal education (CLE) and community outreach ideas.
Membership Committee
Focuses on increasing YLD membership and ensuring that the YLD meets the needs of its members. This committee also organizes the Young Lawyer of the Year Award and the new lawyer swearing-in ceremonies.
Social Committee
Prepares quarterly socials for the YLD Members and provides other events and gatherings which promote the interests of YLD Members.
